Frequently Asked Question #1

Am I a caregiver even though I don’t provide direct care for my mom or dad?

The answer is yes, yes, yes! Family caregiver encompasses more than just those who provide direct care. It includes individuals who may live out of state, but still bear significant emotional and logistic responsibilities in supporting their aging loved ones. These caregivers often coordinate care from a distance this includes managing finances, arranging appointments, and providing emotional support from afar. Despite not being physically present they experience the emotional burden of witnessing our loved ones decline and the challenges of caregiving- so yes a family caregiver is anyone who takes on the role of supporting and advocating for the well being of their aging family regardless of their proximity or direct care giving duties.

Frequently Asked Question #2

Can these services benefit me and my loved one who live anywhere in the US?

While there may be specific rules and regulations governing elder care services in each state, telephonic advisory services can still be beneficial for someone who lives out of the state of Maryland. The expertise and guidance provided by an advisor can help remote caregivers navigate the complexities of caregiving for their aging loved ones regardless of location by offering support resources and personal guidance over the phone. Advisory services can empower out-of-state caregivers to make informed decisions and coordinate care effectively and provide the best possible support for the loved ones no matter where they reside.

Frequently Asked Question #3

What is the difference between ElderCare Advisory Services versus traditional care management services?

ElderCare Advisory Services focuses on providing guidance and support to the family remotely through phone consultation. Whereas care management services, focuses on the loved one and involves hands on comprehensive in person assessment and care coordination including in person visits and direct assistance. Advisory services can offer valuable support and guidance that can be more convenient, accessible and cost effective, compared to traditional care management services. Both types of services play important roles in supporting families and their aging loved ones based on your specific needs and preferences.
